Air Marshal Seethepalli Shrinivas officially took command of the Training Command of the Indian Air Force on January 1, 2026, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career. His inaugural day was marked by a ceremonial guard of honour at HQ Training Command, followed by a moment of reflection as he paid homage at the Training Command War Memorial, honoring those who have served.

Commissioned into the Indian Air Force on June 13, 1987, Air Marshal Shrinivas comes equipped with an impressive background of over 4,200 hours of flying experience. Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions at several prestigious IAF training establishments and operational bases. Notably, he has commanded a frontline fighter base on the western border, a premier flying training base, and the Institute of Aerospace Safety, showcasing his comprehensive understanding of training, safety, and operational readiness.

In addition to his command roles, Air Marshal Shrinivas has undertaken numerous key staff positions, including Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Personnel Officers) at Air Headquarters and Operations Staff at HQ Central Air Command. His experience also spans significant instructional roles, where he served as Chief Instructor (Flying) at the Air Force Academy and as Directing Staff at the College of Air Warfare. Before assuming his latest role, he was the Senior Air Staff Officer at HQ South Western Air Command.

As the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Training Command, Air Marshal Shrinivas is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the IAF’s training doctrine and modernizing the educational syllabi. His leadership will focus on building capacity within the force, ensuring that the next generation of air warriors is well-prepared to face contemporary operational challenges.
