Lockheed Martin has successfully sustained nearly 1,300 F-35 aircraft worldwide, demonstrating strong ongoing demand for these advanced military jets.
Recent developments in Europe indicate robust interest in enhancing national defense capabilities through the F-35 program. Italy announced the addition of 25 new aircraft to its fleet, while Denmark incorporated 16 new jets. Several other European countries also achieved key program milestones, further solidifying the aircraft’s presence on the continent. Finland proudly rolled out its first F-35, marking a significant advancement in its military capabilities. Belgium also received its first aircraft, and Norway wrapped up its fleet deliveries, enhancing regional security collaboration.
In a landmark decision, the F-35 Joint Program Office finalized Lots 18-19, enabling production and delivery of up to 296 aircraft at a cost of $24 billion, making it the largest production contract in the program’s history. This groundbreaking contract follows earlier significant accomplishments, including the achievement of one million flight hours and the successful implementation of the TR-3 software upgrade, which enhances operational capabilities for both U.S. and international forces.
