CACI International has been awarded a significant five-year task order valued at $416 million, aimed at upgrading and sustaining the U.S. Navy’s information technology systems under the auspices of the Naval Sea Systems Command. This contract highlights a commitment to modernizing maritime maintenance and enhancing fleet readiness.
The award was made through the SeaPort-Next Generation program and is part of a broader initiative known as the Navy Maritime Maintenance Enterprise Solution. This initiative is designed to optimize maintenance and logistics operations for both ships and submarines, ensuring that critical systems operate smoothly and efficiently.
Throughout the duration of the contract, CACI plans to employ Industry 4.0 technologies, Agile software development methodologies, and its Agile Solution Factory framework. These innovations will facilitate the transition from outdated legacy systems to a cohesive, cloud-based IT infrastructure. The modernization efforts are anticipated to bolster data-driven decision-making, maximize resource allocation, and enhance overall operational efficiency while concurrently reducing maintenance expenditures.
Modernizing IT systems has emerged as a crucial strategy for the U.S. Navy, focused on improving readiness and operational capabilities. In a related development, General Dynamics Information Technology secured a contract in January 2026, valued at $988 million, aimed at updating command, control, communications, and surveillance technologies across various naval platforms, including ships, aircraft, and shore stations.
Furthermore, in October 2025, Sev1Tech was awarded a $49 million contract to provide cybersecurity, engineering, and network support for the Naval Information Warfare Center. That same month, Agile Defense participated in a $44 million initiative led by Savvee Consulting to modernize the Military Sealift Command’s global IT network, with an emphasis on cybersecurity, data analytics, and network sustainment to enhance logistics operations around the world.
These recent contracts underscore the Navy’s ongoing commitment to leveraging advanced technologies and improving its operational framework as part of a comprehensive strategy to modernize its IT systems effectively.
