In a significant move towards enhancing the capabilities of India’s defense forces, Lt Gen Rajiv K Sahni, the Director General of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (DG EME), recently visited the Army Base Workshop located in Pune under the Southern Command. This visit was marked by a thorough review of critical production and overhaul activities, particularly focusing on the overhaul of Class ‘A’ serials and other vital combat equipment.
During his time at the workshop, Lt Gen Sahni engaged with representatives from various sectors, including industry and academia, recognizing their ongoing collaboration with the facility. This partnership is pivotal in fostering the development of state-of-the-art technologies as part of the Military Civil Fusion initiative. The DG EME commended the joint efforts made by these sectors, emphasizing the importance of a united approach to tackle complex technological and operational challenges faced by the military.
