A ceremonial parade of MOBC-255 celebrated a significant achievement as 123 young Medical and Dental Officers, including 32 women, were officially commissioned into the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). This event marked their formal induction into military medical service, a crucial aspect of the armed forces’ operational framework.
The parade was reviewed by Lt Gen Shivinder Singh, AVSM, the Commandant of the Armed Forces Medical College Centre and College (AMCC Centre and College). In his address, Lt Gen Singh emphasized the importance of compassion, humility, and dedication in the officers’ new roles. He articulated the unique responsibility that medical officers carry in safeguarding the lives and health of soldiers, whether in times of peace or conflict.
Among the newly commissioned officers, Captain Kaushal Joshi was recognized as the Best All-Round Officer for his outstanding performance across academics, military training, leadership, and general conduct during the course of his training.
The officers underwent rigorous training that encompassed military ethos, combat medicine, Combat Casualty Care, and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). This comprehensive education equips them to operate proficiently in challenging operational environments, ensuring their readiness to respond effectively to various medical and combat situations.
With their training successfully completed, the newly commissioned officers are poised to serve the nation with honor and competence, reinforcing the essential role of the Armed Forces Medical Services in enhancing the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces.
