Lt Gen Devendra Sharma, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command, made an important visit to the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) in Dehradun on February 2, 2026. This visit allowed the Army Commander to assess the institution’s training and academic facilities, as well as to acknowledge its recent strides in infrastructure development.
During his visit, Lt Gen Sharma praised RIMC for its forward-looking initiatives in military training. He noted the college’s ongoing evolution in meeting the contemporary demands of educational and training standards, reinforcing its commitment to equipping cadets with the skills necessary for modern military challenges.
The General Officer highlighted the institution’s balanced approach to academic excellence, athletic prowess, and character building, which he believes are essential for molding the cadets into future leaders of the Armed Forces. He emphasized that RIMC stands as a foundational pillar in fostering qualities such as discipline, leadership, and a strong sense of national service among its students.
In discussions with faculty members and cadets, Lt Gen Sharma encouraged them to remain steadfast in their ambitions. He portrayed a career in uniformed services as not only noble but also filled with purpose. The Army Commander urged the cadets to embody the highest values of integrity, dedication, and selfless commitment to the nation, reinforcing the college’s role in instilling these principles in future military leaders.
