The US Marine Corps has entered into a significant contract with Virginia-based Obsidian Solutions Group aimed at bolstering the training capabilities for its vehicle operations. This new agreement focuses on the provision of operations and sustainment services across various simulation platforms, which are critical for enhancing the proficiency of Marine Corps personnel.

Key components of the contract include support for computer-based driving simulators, light vehicle trainers, and mechanized weapon training systems. Notably, the agreement also encompasses lifecycle logistics for the Dry Rollover Egress Trainer, a specialized simulator designed to educate operators on various exit strategies from vehicles after potential accidents. This training is essential for ensuring that Marines are adequately prepared for real-life situations that may arise during their deployments.

The efforts outlined in this contract will cater to both individual and collective training needs for vehicle operators, gunners, and related crews, which includes members from both active duty and reserve units. The Marine Corps continues to integrate advanced platforms into its operations to enhance readiness, making the support provided by Obsidian Solutions Group increasingly vital.

Jim Wiley, co-founder and president of Obsidian Solutions Group, expressed enthusiasm about this opportunity, emphasizing the companyโ€™s commitment to innovation and support for the Marine Corps. “This contract underscores our commitment to innovation and excellence and is meaningful to everyone at Obsidian Solutions Group, especially our many veterans and those of us who have worn the Marine Corps uniform,” Wiley stated. He reiterated the company’s honor in contributing to the Marine Corps’ mission and enhancing warfighter readiness.

The US Marine Corps currently deploys a diverse array of ground fleets geared towards various operational needs, including expeditionary deployments, firepower, engineering, and logistics. Among the critical assets in their fleet are the Amphibious Combat Vehicle, designed for operations in both littoral and land environments, as well as the Remotely Operated Ground Unit for Expeditionary Fires, or ROGUE Fires, which is a mobile artillery system derived from the advanced Humvee successor, the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle. Through such initiatives, the Marine Corps aims to maintain its operational readiness and effectiveness in a rapidly evolving battlefield environment.
