The 220 Squadron, known as the Desert Tigers, marked a significant milestone by celebrating its Diamond Jubilee, commemorating 60 years of dedicated service and operational excellence within the Indian Air Force. The celebrations were attended by distinguished guests, including Air Marshal Inderpal Singh Walia, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Air Command, and Air Marshal J S Mann, the Senior Air Staff Officer of the Western Air Command. The presence of a large number of veterans added a poignant touch to the proceedings, as many recalled their experiences and sacrifices that helped establish the squadron’s renowned reputation over six decades.
