CACI International has announced that its Spectral electronic warfare program has received Milestone C approval from the US Navy, signaling the program’s readiness for low-rate initial production and deployment to naval fleets. This significant achievement paves the way for advancing the Navyโs electronic warfare capabilities.
The Spectral initiative, valued at $1.2 billion, aims to provide naval vessels with advanced tools designed to sense and interpret activities across a spectrum of radar, communications, and electronic signals. This enhancement is expected to improve situational awareness for warfighters in operational theaters, enabling more informed decision-making.
Utilizing software-defined technology and an open architecture design, the systems developed under Spectral are crafted to ensure compatibility with future naval solutions, adapting to the rapidly evolving nature of warfare. This flexibility is crucial in maintaining effectiveness against contemporary threats and challenges.
Approval for the program followed a thorough evaluation process conducted by the militaryโs Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence and involved meticulous assessments through the Program Manager for Warfare Battlespace Awareness and Information Operations.
John Mengucci, CEO and president of CACI, celebrated this milestone as a “momentous leap” for the company and the Navy. He attributed the program’s success to CACIโs bold investments and engineering capabilities, emphasizing the importance of delivering advanced technologies that empower warfighters.
Mengucci expressed gratitude to the Navy for entrusting CACI with a vital role in enhancing national defense. โThis recent milestone enables the delivery of modern, cutting-edge technologies that empower our warfighters to defend the nation from our adversaries and maintain decision superiority across every domain, especially the electromagnetic spectrum,โ he remarked. He underscored the urgency and significance of this program, particularly in high-stakes environments where lives are on the line.
