Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla, the General Officer Commanding of the Fire and Fury Corps, recently visited the Army Highland Eagles Workshop in Leh, emphasizing the Indian Army’s commitment to technological advancements and operational readiness in high-altitude areas. During his visit on February 28, 2026, he inaugurated a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to modern technology aggregation and repair, marking a pivotal development in enhancing capabilities for forces stationed in difficult terrains.
This new facility is strategically designed to support the maintenance, integration, and quick turnaround of advanced military systems, thereby ensuring improved operational readiness under extreme climatic conditions. The establishment of this workshop signifies a significant step toward preparing the Indian Army for next-generation warfare, particularly in key strategic sectors where reliability, self-sufficiency, and a technological edge are paramount.
Lt Gen Bhalla took the opportunity to review several innovative projects initiated by the unit, showcasing a proactive approach to integrating emerging technologies.
