In a tragic incident during Operation Sheri Kalan in the Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir, Subedar Sandeep Kumar Dhaka of the Indian Army made the ultimate sacrifice while serving his country. The incident took place around 2:30 PM, as the Junior Commissioned Officer was engaged in prolonged operations in rugged and challenging terrain.
Reports indicate that during the operation, Subedar Dhaka slipped and fell, rendering him unresponsive. Immediate action was taken to evacuate him to the Military Hospital at Potha, where medical teams worked tirelessly to revive him. Despite their best efforts, he succumbed to his injuries while still on duty.
In the wake of this loss, the White Knight Corps of the Indian Army paid a heartfelt tribute to the fallen JCO, recognizing his extraordinary bravery, unwavering dedication, and selfless service to the nation.
