New Delhi, October 22, 2026: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has cleared Ms. Deepali Masirkar, IPS (Nagaland:2008), for appointment as Executive Director (Security) in Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
As per the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) order issued on October 21, 2026, she will serve in the post for a combined tenure of seven years, up to May 3, 2029, from the date of assumption of charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The order places her pay at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix, and she will succeed Baljit Singh, IPS (Jharkhand:1996).
The ACC has also approved curtailment of her central deputation tenure as Director in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, a position she has held since January 2025. Earlier, she had moved on central deputation on May 3, 2022, when she joined as Director in the Election Commission of India, New Delhi, for a five-year period.
Service background and current status
Ms. Masirkar is a 2008-batch officer of the Nagaland cadre. The report says she has recently been empanelled for the post of Inspector General at the Centre, indicating a further step in her service progression. Her new assignment at ONGC will take effect once she assumes charge, as confirmed by the official order.
The appointment comes at a time when ONGC continues to be a major public sector company in India’s energy sector. The source identifies the role as a security leadership post within the enterprise, but does not provide any further operational details beyond the appointment itself.
