Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi Conducts Official Visit to Andaman and Nicobar Command

During an official visit to the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) from March 1 to 4, 2025, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), along with Mrs. Shashi Tripathi, President of the Navy Wives Welfare Association (NWWA), underscored the strategic importance of the region as well as the welfare of naval personnel stationed there.

The itinerary began at Air Force Station Carnic, where Admiral Tripathi paid tribute at the Tsunami Memorial, a solemn remembrance of the lives lost during the devastating natural disaster in 2004. Engaging with the station’s personnel, he expressed gratitude for their commitment and acknowledged the station’s growing significance within the ANC’s operational framework.

Following this, the Admiral visited INS Kardip, where he met with naval personnel to evaluate their operational readiness and overall morale. A key moment of the visit was the inauguration of the Other Than Married (OTM) accommodation facility named ‘Kailash.’ This new facility aims to enhance living conditions for staff stationed at the base. Concurrently, Mrs. Shashi Tripathi took the opportunity to inaugurate the renovated Naval Public School (NPS) Kardip, reaffirming the Navy’s dedication to providing quality education for the families of service members.

The visit wrapped up with a comprehensive inspection of INS Baaz, the southernmost air station of the Indian Armed Forces. Admiral Tripathi interacted closely with the station’s personnel, highlighting the strategic importance of their operational roles. He also inaugurated ‘Baazeecha,’ another newly constructed OTM accommodation facility designed to improve living standards for those stationed at this remote location.

Throughout the visit, Admiral Tripathi’s engagements were centered on enhancing operational preparedness, promoting infrastructure development, and prioritizing personnel welfare in the strategically vital Andaman and Nicobar region, reflecting the Indian Navy’s ongoing commitment to its members and their families.
