AFCAT Air Force Common Admission Test notification has been released by the Indian Air Force, informed aspirants has already started registering for the exam. Registration for AFCAT 2 2015 Online Application will open on 27th Jun 2015. Last date for receiving of AFCAT 2 2015 Online Application is 23rd Jul 2015. If you are willing to join Indian Air Force as an officer then AFCAT is your best option but to do so you have to full fill the required AFCAT 2 2015 Eligibility Criterion.

Flying Branch (199/16T/PC/M, 199/16T/SSC/M &199/16T/PC/W):

Age limit: 20 to 24 years as on 01 July 2016 i.e. Born between 02 July 1992 to 01 July 1996 (Both Dates inclusive). (Upper age limit for Candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA(India) is relaxable upto 26 years i.e. Born between 02 July 1990 to 01 July 1996 (Both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualifications: Graduates (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized University who have attained minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together and have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level OR BE / B Tech degree (Four year course) from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together.

Physical Standards:

  • Height and Weight: Minimum height : 162.5 cms with correlated weight, Leg Length : Min – 99 cms. Max – 120 cms.Thigh Length : Max – 64 cms.Sitting Height : Min – 81.5 cms. Max – 96 cms.
  • Vision:
  1. Minimum Visual Acuity 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other, correctable to 6/6 only for hypermetropia.
  2. Manifest Myopia – Nil.
  3. LASIK Surgery for correction of vision is admissible in Transport and Helicopter streams of Short Service Commission (Flying Branch) if the following conditions are fulfilled at the time of Air Force medical examination:-

(i) LASIK Surgery should not have been carried out before the age of 20 years.

(ii) The axial length of the eye should not be more than 25.5 mm as measured by IOL master.

(iii) At least twelve months should have lapsed post uncomplicated stable LASIK. No history or evidence of any complication.

(iv) The post LASIK corneal thickness as measured by a corneal pachymeter should not be less than 450 microns.

(v) Individuals with high refractive errors (>6D) prior to LASIK are to be excluded. Candidates must not suffer from colour or night blindness.

  • All other medical criteria would be evaluated by the Air Force Medical Authorities whose decision on the fitness would be final.

Technical Branch (199/16T/PC/M, 199/16T/SSC/M &199/16T/PC/W)

Age limit: 20 to 26 years as on 01 July 2016 i.e. Born between 02 July 1990 to 01 July 1996 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualifications:

  • Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)}: Candidates applying for AE (L) branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognised University or cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies.
  • Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M)}: Candidates applying for AE (M) branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognised University or cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies.

Physical Standards:

  • Height and Weight: Minimum height, Men – 157.5 Cms, Women – 152 Cms with correlated weight.
  • All other medical criteria would be evaluated by the Air Force Medical Authorities whose decision on the fitness would be final.

 Ground Duty Branches (199/16G/PC/M, 199/16G/SSC/M & 199/16G/SSC/W )

Age limit: 20 to 26 year as on 01 July 2016 i.e. Born between 02 July 1990 to 01 July 1996 (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualifications:

  • Administration & Logistics: Graduate Degree (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all papers put together or a Post Graduate Degree/ equivalent Diploma in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together.
  • Accounts: Graduate Degree in Commerce (B Com)(Minimum three year degree course) with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate of all papers put together or Post Graduate Degree in Commerce (MCom) 1CA/ ICWA with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together.
  • Education: Post Graduate Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together.

Physical Standards:

  • Height and Weight: Minimum height, Men – 157.5 Cms, Women – 152 Cms with correlated weight.
  • All other medical criteria would be evaluated by the Air Force Medical Authorities whose decision on the fitness would be final.
