Air Industries Group Secures $1.5 Million Contracts for US Air Force Landing Gear Components

Air Industries Group has announced a significant development in its business operations, having secured contracts to supply landing gear components for two prominent aircraft used by the US military—the B-1B Lancer heavy bomber and the F-16 Fighting Falcon combat aircraft. The total value of this new work is estimated at $1.5 million, marking a key opportunity for the New York-based company.

In a statement, CEO Lou Melluzzo highlighted the expansive market for products related to the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft, underscoring the strategic importance of the company’s recent contracts. “The market for supplying products used in maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft is very large,” he remarked. Melluzzo also emphasized that while these two contracts are relatively modest in scale, they serve as crucial indicators of the success of Air Industries Group’s revitalized business development initiatives.

In addition to this recent contract, Air Industries Group has a history of noteworthy US military contracts. Earlier this year, the company secured a separate agreement valued at $5.9 million to supply flight control assemblies for the US Air Force’s F-5 Tiger fighter jet and the T-38 Talon trainer aircraft. Furthermore, in December 2024, Air Industries is set to commence work on a contract worth $11 million that entails delivering landing gear systems for the US Navy’s E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, a tactical airborne early warning aircraft. This contract will kick off in the latter half of 2025, with shipments expected to be completed by 2026.

This latest accomplishment adds to Air Industries Group’s growing portfolio, which began gaining momentum two years prior when the company received an initial contract valued at $1.9 million to manufacture landing gear components for the B-1B Lancer bombers. The consistent stream of military contracts reflects the company’s strategic focus on expanding its presence in the defense sector and capitalizing on the increasing demand for aviation components.
