Air Marshal Tejbir Singh has officially taken on the role of Director General (Inspection & Safety) at Air Headquarters, marking a significant milestone in his extensive career with the Indian Air Force (IAF), where he has dedicated over 37 years of service. A distinguished alumnus of the Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS) in the UK, Air Marshal Singh brings an impressive record of more than 7,000 flying hours and is renowned for his groundbreaking efforts in advancing the capabilities of the C-130J Super Hercules for special operations.

In this new position, Air Marshal Singh’s extensive operational experience, strong leadership skills, and in-depth knowledge of flight safety and inspection processes are expected to greatly enhance the oversight, safety protocols, and operational readiness of the IAF. His appointment reflects a strategic move to reinforce the commitment to flight safety and the uphold of rigorous operational standards throughout the organization.

He succeeds Air Marshal M. B. Ranade, who concluded his illustrious career on 30 November 2025 after 39 years of dedicated service. The IAF has honored Air Marshal Ranade for his exceptional professionalism and substantial contributions to air operations and the enduring excellence of the organization.

This leadership transition signifies the IAF’s ongoing dedication to promoting flight safety and operational effectiveness, as it moves forward under Air Marshal Singh’s guidance.
