Air Marshal Venkataramanan Rajasekhar Assumes Role as Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance at Air Headquarters

Air Marshal Venkataramanan Rajasekhar, AVSM, has taken on the esteemed role of Air Officer-in-Charge Maintenance at Air Headquarters as of February 1, 2025. With an impressive academic background, he holds a postgraduate degree in Control Systems from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. His extensive experience spans over 37 years in both technical and operational roles within the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Air Marshal Rajasekhar’s career is marked by significant contributions across various critical areas. He has played a vital role in enhancing communication and networking capabilities, which have improved operational connectivity across IAF platforms. His efforts in aircraft maintenance have bolstered the serviceability and reliability of essential assets, ensuring that the IAF remains mission-ready. Additionally, he has made substantial strides in technical training, successfully developing and implementing advanced training methodologies to prepare personnel for the challenges of modern warfare.

Among his key achievements is his integral role in the AFNET project—a secure and advanced communication network that has transformed the IAF’s digital operations and capabilities. This project is considered a cornerstone in modernizing the force’s technological framework.

Before stepping into his current responsibilities, Air Marshal Rajasekhar held various prominent positions within the IAF.
