In a swift resolution to a troubling incident of road rage in Bengaluru, the man accused of assaulting Indian Air Force officer Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose has been arrested. This breakthrough followed Wing Commander Bose’s decision to share a photograph of the alleged attacker on his Instagram account, appealing for public assistance in identifying him.
The incident took place while Wing Commander Bose and his wife, Squadron Leader Madhumita, were traveling from the DRDO colony in CV Raman Nagar to the airport. Reports indicate that a biker initiated an abusive confrontation after seeing the DRDO sticker on their vehicle. The situation escalated violently, resulting in multiple injuries for the officer. He was reportedly struck on the forehead with a key and hit with a stone during the altercation. Additionally, it was reported that his finger was bitten in the scuffle.
In a series of candid Instagram posts, Wing Commander Bose documented the events, sharing images of both his injuries and the assailant. His posts included a picture showing blood on his face alongside the attacker, who was seen wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. “You can see how they were well prepared. Came wearing a helmet, used the key to punch me while I was inside the car,” he detailed in his caption.
In another post, he provided a close-up of the suspect’s face, unmasked, and referred to him as “the asura who abused my wife and assaulted me thereafter with help from local youth.” The officer also shared an image of his bandaged finger, which he claimed was bitten during the fight. He expressed his frustration and concern over public safety, noting, “What kind of mad people are we allowing to roam in the city? How can I leave my wife and kid alone here?”
The widespread sharing of his posts garnered significant attention, which ultimately aided the Bengaluru police in locating the suspect.
