Indian Air Force and Drone Federation of India co-hosting Bharat Drone Shakti- 2023 at the Indian Air Force airbase at Hindon in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday. The Defence Ministry said, the usage of drones in India is seeing an increase- both, in the military, as well as in the civil domain.
A remarkable display of cutting-edge drone technology was unveiled during the inauguration of Bharat Drone Shakti 2023 by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at the Hindon Airbase on Monday. A compact drone system designed for easy transport on motorbikes was exhibited at the drone show, according to a report by ANI. These motorbikes are equipped to carry unassembled drones, providing an efficient means of deploying technology across rural terrains, the report added.
The two-day Bharat Drone Shakti will present the prowess of the Indian drone industry at full capacity hosting over 50 live aerial demonstrations. It will showcase survey drones, agriculture drones, fire suppression drones, and tactical surveillance drones. The event will witness participation from more than 75 drone start-ups and corporates.
Meanwhile, the first C-295 transport aircraft was also inducted into the Indian Air Force at the Hindon Airbase in the presence of Rajnath Singh. Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari was also present at the induction ceremony. The C-295 aircraft acquisition, a two-year effort that began with a deal between India and Airbus Defence and Space, marks a pivotal step in enhancing India’s aerial capabilities. Airbus is set to deliver the initial 16 aircraft, while the remaining 40 will be manufactured and assembled in India through a partnership with Tata Advanced Systems (TASL).
The Bharat Drone Shakti event is expected to attract around five thousand attendees, including representatives from the Central government, state departments, public and private industries, armed forces, paramilitary forces and representatives from friendly countries. The Ministry said, Bharat Drone Shakti will give a fillip to India’s commitment to becoming a global drone hub by 2030.
“Special motorbikes are customised to carry unassembled drones. Kisan drones can be transported using motorbikes across rural terrain to introduce modern agricultural practices”.
