Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Praveen Kumar, embarked on a crucial two-day visit to the Punjab Frontier from April 11 to 12, 2026. The purpose of this visit was to assess operational readiness and engage directly with commanders and troops stationed along the border.
During the visit, Kumar placed significant emphasis on the importance of technology-driven border management. He inspected the BSF Artillery Headquarters and Training Centre in Faridkot, as well as the Drone Forensic Laboratory in Amritsar. The inspections underscored the growing role of advanced surveillance technologies and counter-drone capabilities in bolstering border security. In light of rising threats, especially from drones being utilized for cross-border activities, Kumar urged field formations to remain adaptable and proactive in their approach.
Engaging directly with personnel, the DG addressed various operational challenges facing the forces. He emphasized the necessity for constant vigilance, coordination, and innovative strategies to effectively secure the nation’s borders.
