A tragic incident has unfolded in Vaishali district, Bihar, where 29-year-old BSF jawan Raju Kumar succumbed to a heart attack on Friday evening. Raju, a resident of Sahdullapur Chakfarid Madhurapur village, had recently completed his service in Operation Sindoor—a high-stakes military operation along the India-Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir.
Family members report that Raju returned home on May 17 to participate in the shraddh ceremony for his late uncle, Chandradeep Rai. Unfortunately, just days after the ceremony, he began experiencing severe chest pain. Despite being rushed to a local doctor, he tragically passed away during initial treatment attempts.
Having served in Jammu and Kashmir since 2022, Raju was the only son in his family. His mother died when he was young, leaving him in the care of his father, Brajnandan Rai, 55, who now faces the heart-wrenching reality of living alone. Raju was married for nearly a decade and leaves behind a wife and two young children.
Raju’s brother-in-law, Ravindra Rai, noted that the soldier was profoundly affected by the recent loss of his uncle, making his sudden death even more devastating for the family. The entire village has been plunged into mourning, with relatives and neighbors expressing their profound sorrow at the loss of such a beloved community member.
In a remarkable testament to military service, it has been revealed that seven members of Raju’s extended family are currently serving in the armed forces, underscoring a legacy of dedication and sacrifice. The BSF department has been informed about his passing, and local police have sent Raju’s body for a postmortem at Sadar Hospital.
