The Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School (CIJWS) in Vairengte recently wrapped up its Unconventional Warfare Course, which took place over an intensive training cycle. Concluding on 2 March 2026, the course focused on refining guerrilla tactics and adaptive combat techniques, integrating new-generation technologies to bolster the effectiveness of asymmetric operations in increasingly complex environments.

Major General Kulvir Singh, SM, Commandant of CIJWS, delivered a closing address emphasizing the dynamic and evolving nature of modern warfare. He urged the trainees to cultivate an innovative, unconventional, and bold mindset, essential for succeeding in today’s multi-domain operations.

One of the highlights of the course was the outstanding performance of the 1 BIHAR team, which was recognized as the best team for demonstrating exceptional cohesion, tactical acumen, and professionalism throughout the training.

The successful conclusion of the program reaffirmed the critical role of CIJWS Vairengte in developing highly adaptable soldiers, ready to excel in counter-insurgency and jungle warfare operations.
