World Interfaith Harmony Week 2026

World Interfaith Harmony Week 2026 is being observed globally from 1 to 7 February, under the leadership of the United Nations. The week focuses on promoting peace, tolerance, non-violence, and mutual respect among followers of different religions and belief systems.
The observance traces its roots to the “A Common Word” initiative launched in 2007, which highlighted shared values across faiths. The formal proposal for dedicating a global week to interfaith harmony was presented at the 65th United Nations General Assembly on 23 September 2010 by King Abdullah II of Jordan and Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad.
World Interfaith Harmony Week continues to underline that religious diversity should become a source of cooperation rather than conflict, reinforcing the idea that harmony among faiths is essential for lasting global peace.
