  • Recently the Central Board of Directors of the RBI (Reserve Bank of India) at its 582nd meeting recommended aligning the financial year of RBI, currently July-June, with the government’s fiscal year (April-March) from the year 2020-21. Now, the proposal is sent to the government for its approval.
  • CREDAI (The Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India) launched an ‘Credai Awaas’ app (application) to connect homebuyers with its member developers to purchase properties.
  • ‘Yodhavu’ application was introduced by the Kochi city police and the informer’s identity could be kept secret.

  • The Naga tribes of Manipur celebrated seed sowing festival ‘Lui-Ngai-Ni’ at Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) ground in Ukhrul, Manipur. The 2 day festival was inaugurated by N. Kayisii,  Manipur’s Minister of Tribal Development and Awangbou Newmai and Tamei MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly), Manipur as Guest of Honour.

  • “United by Emotion” to be 2020 Tokyo Olympics Motto which reflects the “universal values” and “unifying power of sport”, for the upcoming 2020 Olympics to be held in Tokyo, Japan from July 24, 2020 to August 9, 2020.
  • The United States Trade Representative (USTR) has changed an administrative rule to impose countervailing duties (CVDs) on goods from India and certain other countries. Until 10 February 2020, India was on the developing country list and therefore eligible for the more relaxed standards. India has now been taken off of that list.
  • The Indian South Central Railways (SCR) zone becomes India’s first to have 13 energy-neutral stations. The number is highest amongst all the zones across the Indian Railways network. The total capacity of all the solar panels installed at the 13 energy neutral stations is 99 kWp at a cost of Rs 50 lakh.
  • GoI and World Bank signed loan agreement of 450 million USD. he project supported by the World Bank called the “National Ground Water Management Improvement Programme” is to be implemented in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Haryana.
  • The Election Commission of India has been awarded ‘Silver’ for Excellence in Government Process re-engineering for digital transformation for the year 2019-20. The award was presented during the 23rd National Conference on e-Governance. 
  • Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways and MSMEs Nitin Gadkari will represent India at the 3rd High Level Global Conference on Road Safety in Stockholm.
