Constitution (SC) Order Amendment Bill 2023
- The Bill Amends The Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order 1950 To Modify The List Of Scheduled Castes In Chhattisgarh. The Bill Includes Mahara And Mahra Communities As Synonyms Of The Mehra, Mahar, And Mehar Communities In Chhattisgarh.

Per Transaction Limit For UPI Lite Raised To Rs.500
- Reserve Bank Of India Has Proposed To Launch An Innovative Payment Mode Viz., “Conversational Payments” On UPI.
- It Will Enable Users To Engage In A Conversation With An Artificial Intelligence-powered System To Initiate And Complete Transactions In A Safe And Secure Environment.
- RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das Said, This Channel Will Be Made Available In Both Smartphones And Feature Phones-based UPI Channels, Thereby Helping In The Deepening Of Digital Penetration In The Country.

- Varahagiri Venkata Giri (10 August 1894 – 24 June 1980) was the fourth president of India.

- After the end of his full term, Giri was honoured by the Government of India with the Bharat Ratna in 1975.
World Lion Day 2023
- World Lion Day is observed every year on August 10 to raise awareness about the conservation of lions. The lion is an endangered species on the IUCN Red List.
- To arrest the rapid decrease of Lion population, a group of non-profits and tourism companies created World Lion Day to celebrate the animals and redirect the world’s attention towards them. Organizations such as Panthera and National Geographic Society’s Big Cats Initiative Support World Lion Day.
- While the population of wild lions saw a catastrophic decline across the world, except for Africa, the mighty beasts have found a natural home in India.

World Biofuel Day 2023
- World Biofuel Day is celebrated annually on 10 August.
