- Portable Multifeed Oxygen Manifolds (MOM) supplied by Indian Navy to King George Hospital Vizag are utilised for treatment of Vizag Gas Leak patients yesterday.
- 5 more Portable MOMs were quickly installed with assistance of Technical Teams from Naval Dockyard Vizag (NDV).
Israel’s Army awards contract to Rafael for Spike FireFly loitering munition
- Spike Firefly was developed jointly by Rafael and the Israeli MOD has been ordered for use by the IDF’s ground forces. This system is designed for use in urban areas, where situational awareness is restricted.
- To be named Maoz in use with its domestic operator, the 3kg (6.6lb) air vehicle is equipped with a dual seeker, target tracker and homing algorithms, which enable it to be employed against stationary and moving targets, with “lethal effect”. It also features an abort mode and can return safely to an operator if an attack is not completed.
U.S. National Guard deploys 6 CH-47 Chinook helicopters to Afghanistan
- Oregon National Guard soldiers and six Chinook helicopters left Pendleton Wednesday enroute to Fort Hood, Texas – and mobilization to deploy to Afghanistan.
- The unit will fly the Chinooks to carry cargo and equipment to provide supplies in Afghanistan.
DARPA awards contract to Dynetics for automated aerial dogfighting
- Leidos’ Dynetics subsidiary has received an 18-month, $12.3M contract to incorporate operational-level scenarios into heterogeneous aircraft as part of the first phase of a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency program.
Greece awards contract to Israel’s Defence Ministry for lease several heavy drones
- The Hellenic Ministry of National Defense has signed agreements with Israel’s Defense Ministry to lease several heavy unmanned aerial vehicles.
- Under the deal, the Defense Ministry will lease the Heron unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system, made by state-owned Israel Aerospace Industries for three years.
MoD abolishes 9,300 posts in Military Engineering Service
- Posts getting vacated on the retirement of existing staff will not be filled-up with fresh recruitment.
