Embraer has completed the first scheduled sustainment check for the C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft belonging to the Hungarian Air Force. This routine maintenance was conducted in Portugal, two years after the aircraft entered service, with significant assistance from the Alverca do Ribatejo-based aerospace company OGMA.
The sustainment process involved comprehensive maintenance, logistics, and technical support, leveraging services from Embraer’s extensive supply chain network across Europe. Hungary marked its position as the second NATO country to incorporate the C-390, commissioning its first aircraft in 2024, followed by another in 2025.
According to Embraer, the C-390s have showcased “outstanding operational performance” since they began operations. Douglas Lobo, the vice president of Embraer Services & Support, emphasized the successful collaboration with OGMA, stating that it resulted in a robust and effective service, ultimately enhancing operational readiness and ensuring long-term customer satisfaction.
Brigadier General Tamás Bali, the commander of the Hungarian Air Force, highlighted the maintenance as a significant milestone for the military. He expressed satisfaction with the services rendered, commending the “high level of technical expertise” from the consortium involved. Bali noted that the close collaboration throughout the process led to a smoothly executed maintenance operation, ensuring the aircraft’s continuous readiness.
