The 16th edition of Joint Military Exercise Nomadic Elephant between Indian Army & Mongolian Army will be conducted in Umroi, Meghalaya from 03 Jul to 16 Jul 2024.
Aim Of This Exercise
The exercise aims to enhance interoperability between both Armies in conducting semi conventional operations in semi urban/ mountainous terrain under the UN mandate.
Significance
The scope of this exercise involves Platoon level Field Training Exercise. During the exercise, Indian and Mongolian troops will engage in various training activities designed to enhance their skills and capabilities. These activities include endurance training, reflex firing, room intervention, small team tactics and rock craft training. Soldiers from both sides will learn from each other’s operational experience.
India and Mongolia have a shared commitment to regional security and cooperation. Exercise NOMADIC ELEPHANT-24 will be yet another significant milestone in the defence cooperation between the Indian Army and Mongolian Army which will further foster bilateral relations between the two nations.
Exercise “EX KHAAN QUEST 2023”
Multinational Peacekeeping Joint Exercise “Ex Khaan Quest 2023” featuring participation from military contingents and observers from over 20 countries has commenced in Mongolia. India is also an active participant in an annual week-long joint training exercise called the Khaan Quest, hosted by Mongolia.
