Fujifilm Healthcare Awarded $10 Million Contract for C-Arm Systems in US Military Medical Facilities

The US Defense Logistics Agency has recognized Fujifilm Healthcare Americas Corporation’s innovative capabilities by awarding the company a substantial $10-million contract aimed at integrating advanced surgical C-arm systems in joint force medical facilities. This technology, characterized as a C-shaped scanning machine, employs continuous X-ray beams to capture real-time imaging of patient anatomy, enhancing diagnostic capabilities in military medical settings.

Under the new agreement, the Massachusetts-based company will deploy its proprietary Persona C mobile fluoroscopy system across various sites directed by the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps. The implementation of this equipment is anticipated to facilitate a wide array of diagnostic imaging and minimally invasive surgical procedures, providing military medical personnel with critical tools for patient care.

The rollout of the C-arm systems will commence in the first quarter of 2025, with a projected delivery and outfitting period spanning four years. According to Fujifilm, the decision by the US government to select its C-arm platform followed a thorough evaluation process that benchmarked several competing devices in the market. Factors such as functionality, adaptability, service support infrastructure, and adherence to cybersecurity regulations were scrutinized, leading to Fujifilm being acknowledged as the primary partner that not only met but exceeded the stringent requirements set forth by military officials.

Fujifilm’s Senior Director for Federal Government Business, Lou Cavallaro, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the military community, highlighting the commitment to providing advanced technologies that will significantly improve healthcare outcomes for service members. Cavallaro noted, “Fujifilm is honored yet again to receive a multi-year federal award from the Defense Logistics Agency, as it underscores the level of trust military officials place in our advanced technologies to treat our nation’s service men and women.”

This latest contract adds to Fujifilm’s growing portfolio of collaborations with the US Armed Forces. Notably, in 2024, the company received approval for its flagship mammographic imaging workstation for military applications, illustrating a continual expansion of Fujifilm’s offerings. Moreover, the firm previously secured clearance for its cloud-based medical data storage solutions, providing essential support across various defense-related healthcare initiatives. Additionally, in 2021, Fujifilm had signed a comparable contract with the Defense Logistics Agency for the deployment of C-arm solutions in military treatment facilities.

Through these partnerships, Fujifilm underscores its ongoing commitment to advancing diagnostic imaging technology, ensuring that military medical professionals are equipped with the highest quality tools to enhance patient care for those who serve the nation.
