Under his guidance, there has been a notable acceleration in the Army’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, wherein 75% of the defense capital budget for 2024 has been allocated for domestic procurement—a significant rise from the 68% allocation in the previous fiscal year. His experience as the former Northern Army Commander has positioned him to effectively leverage indigenous technologies to upgrade the Army’s capabilities.
