Gentleman Cadets from the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai, alongside their counterparts from allied countries, paid a visit to the Madras Engineer Group and Centre (MEG) in Bengaluru as part of their Mid-Term Hike Programme. This significant event took place on December 27, marking an opportunity for these future officers to delve into the esteemed legacy of the Madras Sappers and the essential combat engineer role undertaken by the Corps of Engineers during times of peace and conflict.
The visit allowed the cadets to explore heritage displays that illuminated the rich history and valorous traditions of the Madras Sappers. They had the opportunity to witness technical demonstrations that showcased the Corps’ diverse capabilities, including mobility, counter-mobility, survivability, and battlefield engineering.
