A grand ceremonial parade was recently held at the Armed Forces Medical Corps (AMC) Centre & College in Lucknow, celebrating the completion of the Medical Officers Basic Course (MOBC) Serial No. 250. This significant event saw the participation of 118 course officers, including 22 lady officers, who officially transitioned into the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) upon the successful completion of their training.
The ceremony was presided over by Lt Gen Shivinder Singh, AVSM, the Commandant of the AMC Centre & College. During his review of the parade, Lt Gen Singh expressed his admiration for the officers, highlighting their dedication and commitment throughout the course. In a motivational address, he urged them to embrace the highest professional standards and to serve the nation with humility, empathy, and compassion. His words served as a reminder of the essential role medical officers play in ensuring the well-being of armed forces personnel.
The event also recognized outstanding achievements among the officers. Captain Yogesh Gangwar, serving as the Regimental Medical Officer with the 15 Garhwal Rifles, was awarded the title of Best All-round Officer. His exemplary performance throughout the course was acknowledged, marking him as a role model for his peers.
This parade not only celebrated the achievements of the new officers but also reinforced the mission of the AFMS to train and equip healthcare professionals dedicated to providing critical medical support to the armed forces.
