A delegation of 28 officers from the War High College in Tamentfoust visited the Headquarters of Southern Command to engage with Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief. The main agenda of the meeting was to bolster defence cooperation between India and Algeria.
The discussions centered on enhancing military exchanges and professional military education, with an emphasis on fostering deeper institutional collaboration and sharing experiences between the two nations’ armed forces. This interaction is seen as a significant step towards reinforcing the strategic ties that have been developing between India and Algeria.
During the visit, the Algerian delegation received an insightful briefing on the foundational values of the Indian Army, which are deeply embedded in honour, duty, and valour. They were also informed about the diverse operational landscape of Southern Command. The presentations that were delivered covered a broad range of topics, including initiatives aimed at nation-building, Military-Civil Fusion, and operations related to Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief, all of which align with India’s wider national objectives.
The meeting ultimately underscored the mutual commitment of both the Indian Army and the Algerian Armed Forces to strengthen their defence ties. The two sides expressed a shared desire to deepen cooperation through ongoing professional engagement and enhanced understanding.
