India’s tradition to send Military Delegates, Attaches, and Delegates to other nations will be changed and reformed in the near future. These representatives will generally be sent to those countries that will be potential buyers of the Indian Weapon System. Defence Ministry recently told that India is looking forward to cutting ties in terms of sending military representatives to other nations who will not buy Indian weaponry.

Accordingly, the Military Representatives and attaches will be sent to those countries where the potential to expand the country’s defence export is much higher. These defence exports include products from public and private sectors both. Therefore the number of representatives being sent to foreign nations will be changed to a smaller number soon. The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, issued a mandate to expand the country’s defence exports, which led to reform implementation.
According to Defence Ministry officials, “keeping a significant number of attachés in nations that supplied us with weapons systems makes no sense at a time when we have stopped purchasing weapons systems from outside and are insisting on manufacturing in India under the “Make in India” plan.” The Russian and Indian joint company BrahMos Aerospace manufactures supersonic cruise missiles. According to this intelligence, the focus will now be on African, Middle Eastern, and friendly Southeast Asian countries that have expressed interest in Indian armaments such as BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles.
