India and the United States discussed the Chinese spy balloons that were recently shot down by the American Air Force after being detected at a very high altitude carrying out suspicious activities. When asked if the Chinese Spy balloon incident was discussed with Indian officials, Pacific Air Force Commander General Kenneth S Wilsbach said today, “He had very ‘brief’ conversations and dialogue with most of the air chiefs in the region, shortly after it was shot down by the US down the coast of South Carolina.”
What did he Say?
In addition, when discussing the incident, the Commander stated that any country that violates the sovereignty of another should be of concern to us. “Certainly, we had some discussion about it. We had very brief, I wouldn’t say extensive, conversations with the majority of the region’s air chiefs. “It wasn’t public comments, but rather private remarks behind closed doors,” he explained.
“The sovereignty of your air space, as well as the fact that we believe that your air space in India is your sovereign space and that you should be able to choose who gets to fly into it. And when you have countries that don’t necessarily agree with that and simply decide to violate your sovereignty and fly in it, that’s when you have a problem.” “Any country that would violate the sovereignty of another country’s airspace, who is not abiding by international law or norms should cause concern for us,” he said.
