The Indian Air Force Academy in Dundigal is gearing up for a momentous event with the upcoming Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) for the 215th course. This parade is a significant milestone, marking the successful completion of pre-commissioning training for flight cadets from the Indian Air Force (IAF), alongside officers from the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and one officer from a friendly foreign nation.
General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of the Army Staff, will preside over the ceremonial parade as the Reviewing Officer. His presence emphasizes the spirit of inter-service camaraderie and excellence within military training. During the event, General Dwivedi will award the esteemed ‘President’s Commission’ to the graduating cadets, thereby officially ushering them into their roles as officers across their respective services.
Notably, cadets from the flying branch who have demonstrated exceptional performance will receive their ‘Wings,’ marking their readiness to undertake active flying responsibilities. The top flight cadet, recognized for outstanding merit in the flying branch, will be awarded the ‘President’s Plaque’ along with the prestigious ‘Chief of the Air Staff Sword of Honour’ and will take on the pivotal role of parade commander. Similarly, the leading cadet from the ground duty branches will also be honored with the ‘President’s Plaque.’
The CGP promises a breathtaking showcase of talent and skill, underscoring the operational capabilities of the IAF. The celebration will commence with thrilling displays from the Akash Ganga skydiving team and the Air Warrior Drill Team. The audience can expect mesmerizing fly-pasts and aerial demonstrations featuring a range of aircraft, including the Pilatus PC-7 Mk-II, Hawk, Kiran, and Chetak helicopters. Highlighting the spectacle will be the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team’s (SKAT) breathtaking aerobatics and high-speed maneuvers performed by the SU-30 MKI.
This graduation parade serves not only to honor the accomplishments of the newly commissioned officers but also to reaffirm the IAF’s dedication to operational excellence, discipline, and cooperation among the services.
