The Indian Army has issued a strong condemnation of Pakistan, accusing it of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure, including hospitals and schools, during recent cross-border hostilities. Colonel Sofia Qureshi, a senior spokesperson for the Army, characterized these actions as “condemnable and unprofessional,” highlighting specific attacks near notable air bases in Srinagar, Awantipur, and Udhampur.
These accusations arise amid escalating tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, following a series of aggressive military actions along the Line of Control (LoC). Indian defense sources claim that Pakistan’s bombardments have not only impeded military operations but also jeopardized civilian lives. In response, New Delhi has initiated Operation Sindoor, a measured series of air and missile strikes aimed at dismantling Pakistani air defense systems and terror launch pads.
Colonel Qureshi emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, “This is not just a military escalation; it’s a moral line that has been crossed. Hospitals and schools must remain beyond the reach of warfare. Pakistan’s deliberate targeting of civilian spaces violates all norms of international conduct.”
