Indian Army Invites Applications For 125th NCC Special Entry Scheme (April 2027 Course)
The Indian Army has released the notification for the 125th Short Service Commission (SSC) NCC Special Entry Scheme, offering an excellent opportunity for eligible NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders to join the Indian Army as commissioned officers. The course is scheduled to commence in April 2027 and is open to unmarried male and female candidates, including wards of battle casualties of Army personnel. One of the major advantages of this entry scheme is that eligible candidates are exempted from the written examination and are shortlisted directly for the Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview.
Registration Schedule
The online application process will be conducted through the official Join Indian Army recruitment portal. Separate registration windows have been announced for male and female candidates. Applications for male candidates will be accepted from 20 July to 20 August 2026, while female candidates can apply from 21 July to 21 August 2026. The notification was released on 10 July 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the NCC Special Entry Scheme must possess a Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognised university. They should also hold a valid NCC ‘C’ Certificate with a minimum ‘B’ Grade. Final-year graduation students may also apply, provided they fulfil the conditions specified in the detailed notification.
Applicants should be 19 to 25 years of age as on 1 April 2027 and must be unmarried at the time of application.
Selection Process

- Shortlisting of applications based on eligibility and academic performance.
- Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview.
- Medical Examination.
- Document Verification.
- Preparation of the Final Merit List.
Candidates who successfully complete all stages will undergo training before being commissioned as Short Service Commission Officers in the Indian Army.
For the Indian Army NCC Special Entry, candidates attend the Services Selection Board (SSB) at one of four main Selection Centers across India. You can check your application status and interview call-ups by logging into the Join Indian Army portal.
The designated SSB centers and their locations for Army entries are:
