Captain Anshuman Singh Lost His Life While Saving Fellow Soldiers when a tragic occurrence occurred on Wednesday at the Siachen glacier, resulting in the death of one Army officer and the injuries of three soldiers due to a fire. According to Lt Col PS Sidhu, Leh’s Defence PRO, the injured servicemen have been successfully evacuated to a hospital for treatment.

Among the casualties, Captain Anshuman Singh, the Regiment Medical Officer, unfortunately, succumbed to severe burn injuries. The other three personnel suffered from smoke inhalation and second-degree burns.
They have been successfully air-evacuated to receive additional medical attention, and their conditions are said to be stable, according to the Defence PRO. The incident happened about 3 a.m., and more information about the cause and circumstances surrounding the tragedy is still pending.
An ammo stockpile near Captain Anshuman’s bunker caught fire, threatening the lives of people around. Captain Anshuman rushed into action without hesitation, exhibiting incredible courage and commitment to save as many soldiers as possible. He bravely entered the dangerous region, putting his own life in danger in order to find more survivors.

Son of a retired Subedar, Capt Anshuman Singh, 26, was a graduate of the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, following which he joined the Army Medical Corps. He was a resident of Lucknow and got married in February this year.
Captain Anshuman, despite his brave attempts, did not return. His heroic bravery in the face of peril saved many lives, but it lost him. His bravery and sacrifice will live on in the hearts of those he touched and the nation he served. Captain Anshuman’s selflessness and dedication serve as a powerful reminder of the great sacrifices made by our valiant warriors in the line of duty.
