According to the official notification

NCC 124, the online application process will commence on 12 February 2026 at 1500 hours and will close on 16 March 2026 at 1500 hours. Candidates must apply only through the official website: www.joinindianarmy.nic.in

Type of Commission

This entry is for Short Service Commission (NT) for men, including wards of battle casualties of Army personnel NCC 124. Selected candidates will undergo Pre-Commission training at OTA, Chennai NCC 124.


Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a graduate degree from a recognized university. Final-year students may also apply, provided they complete their degree before commencement of the course NCC 124.

For wards of battle casualties, NCC โ€˜Cโ€™ Certificate is not mandatory NCC 124.


Selection Process

The selection procedure consists of the following stages NCC 124:

(a) Shortlisting of Applications

Shortlisting for the SSB interview is based on:

  • NCC โ€˜Cโ€™ Certificate performance (Maximum 50 marks bonus)
    • Grade โ€˜Aโ€™ โ€“ 50 marks
    • Grade โ€˜Bโ€™ โ€“ 25 marks NCC 124

(b) SSB Interview

Candidates shortlisted will appear for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview.

(c) Medical Examination

  • Medical fitness validity is 270 days from the date of the first medical board (SMB) NCC 124.
  • Candidates already declared โ€˜Med FITโ€™ in a previous SSB medical examination within 270 days need not undergo medical examination again NCC 124.

(d) Merit List

Final selection is based solely on SSB marks NCC 124.
If candidates secure equal marks:

  1. Older candidate ranks higher.
  2. If age is also equal, higher graduation percentage is considered NCC 124.

Candidates within the vacancy and medically fit will receive joining letters for OTA, Chennai NCC 124.


Pay and Allowances

Stipend During Training

During training at OTA, Gentleman and Lady Cadets receive a stipend of โ‚น56,100 per month NCC 124.

Military Service Pay (MSP)

Officers from Lieutenant to Brigadier rank are entitled to MSP of โ‚น15,500 per month NCC 124.

Other Allowances

Various allowances are applicable depending on posting and conditions, such as NCC 124:

  • High Altitude Allowance
