The Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun is set to host its esteemed Passing Out Parade (POP) on 13 December 2025, marking a significant milestone for both Indian and foreign officer cadets who have completed their rigorous military training. Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi will serve as the chief guest for this prestigious event and will have the honor of reviewing the parade.
The Passing Out Parade represents a moment of immense pride, showcasing the transformation of cadets into commissioned officers. For both Indian and international participants, the parade signifies not only the conclusion of their demanding training but also the commencement of their journey as young leaders within their respective armies.
Founded on 1 October 1932, the Indian Military Academy embarked on its mission with a modest group of just 40 cadets. Over the past nine decades, it has significantly broadened its training capacity, currently accommodating up to 1,660 cadets. This expansion underscores the academy’s evolution into one of the world’s foremost military institutions, dedicated to nurturing future leaders.
To date, the academy has successfully trained nearly 66,000 cadets, including approximately 3,000 from allied foreign nations. The alumni of IMA have achieved remarkable success in various fields, consistently upholding the highest standards of military leadership and making substantial contributions to the honor and reputation of the Indian Army.
The upcoming parade is anticipated to attract considerable attention from across the country, celebrating the discipline, dedication, and commitment of the next generation of military officers, who stand ready to serve their nations with integrity and honor.
