In a groundbreaking event for technical training, the Indian Navy proudly conducted the Passing Out Division of its inaugural NEA (Hull Artificer) Course at INS Vishwakarma. This significant ceremony celebrated the induction of the first cohort of specialized Hull Artificers, who are set to become vital assets in maintaining both the structural integrity and operational readiness of various naval platforms.
During the parade, the Commanding Officer of INS Vishwakarma observed and commended the trainees for their dedication, discipline, and exceptional professional skills. In a recognition of their hard work, awards were conferred upon those trainees who demonstrated outstanding achievements throughout the course.
The newly qualified artificers are anticipated to establish a robust technical backbone for the Indian Navy, playing a crucial role in the maintenance, repair, and overall survivability of warships. These skilled technicians are integral to ensuring that naval platforms remain mission-ready and capable of meeting the challenges posed by modern maritime operations.
Post-ceremony, the event transitioned into a formal promotion ceremony, complemented by an interaction session that celebrated the trainees’ successful completion of their rigorous training. The graduates are now poised to transition to their assigned units, where they will take on significant frontline technical responsibilities.
The successful conclusion of the maiden NEA (Hull Artificer) Course highlights the Indian Navy’s commitment to specialized technical training and capacity building. This initiative is an essential component of the Navy’s strategy to enhance its capabilities and maintain a highly skilled workforce to support advanced, technology-driven maritime operations in the future.
