Indian Navy Conducted operational surveillance on the Coco Islands located on the coast of Myanmar. The Indian Navy used its State of Art MQ-9 Reaper Drone to conduct the Surveillance. Indian Navy Conducted the Survey on getting reports of the construction of an airbase situated on the island.
A few days back SSBCrackExams reported that Chinese Construction is being taken place on the Island, and the presence of military on the Islands can be essenced. It has been reported that Chinese military buildup on the island is an overwatch to the Indian Missiles being tested and launched from the coast of Sriharikota. Indian Navy has also raised concern over the Chinese presence in the region of the Indian Ocean (IOR).
Growing Chinese Presence in the IOR
China has provided substantial assistance in the field of arms and ammunition. Meanwhile, satellite images from January show Myanmar’s military government constructing a massive spy base on Cocoa Island in the Bay of Bengal.

Over the years, development has taken place on Coco Island. China following its Expansion policy is making its presence much more witnessable. India is working on strengthening its maritime capabilities and because of that Indian Navy is conducting such surveillance ops to counter China and its mischievous activities. India Nacy is also beefing up its naval presence in the region. Various Exercise is being conducted in the region and Indian Navy is also working on its second aircraft carrier to have a large presence in the region.

Coco Island is strategically located in the Bay of Bengal and has been the subject of geopolitical tensions in recent years. Myanmar has been developing the airbase on the island, and there have been reports of other developments taking place, including the construction of a deep-water port.
