The Indian Navy’s indigenously built anti-submarine warfare corvette, INS Kiltan, recently celebrated eight years of distinguished service under the Eastern Fleet’s Sunrise Command. Commissioned on October 16, 2017, INS Kiltan serves as a prominent symbol of India’s advancing maritime self-reliance and shipbuilding proficiency.
Constructed by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) in Kolkata, the Kamorta-class stealth corvette is a testament to cutting-edge naval design and technology. Throughout its operational history, the ship has demonstrated exceptional capabilities in anti-submarine warfare, maritime security, and multinational naval exercises.
