The Israeli military announced that two projectiles were launched from northern Gaza on Sunday, with one intercepted and the other landing in southern Israel. This development followed the activation of air raid sirens in the Lakhish and Ashdod regions.
According to the military, the air force successfully brought down one of the projectiles, while the second struck an open area, causing no reported casualties. As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, which have become increasingly rare due to the ongoing and intense Israeli military campaign in Gaza City.
Meanwhile, Gaza’s civil defense agency reported that six individuals had been killed in Israeli strikes since the early hours of Sunday. Witnesses recounted a night filled with significant strikes and artillery fire as the Israeli military continues its offensive in the region. The military has engaged in a sustained bombardment of Gaza City, which is now nearing two years into a conflict that has caused devastating impacts on the territory.
On Saturday alone, reports indicated that nearly 90 people were killed across Gaza, with the majority of those fatalities occurring in Gaza City. The situation remains tense as both military operations and civilian casualties mount in the ongoing conflict.
