The JAI Se Vijai Seminar 2026 has officially commenced at Southern Command, serving as a pivotal platform designed to promote the Honourable Prime Minister’s vision encapsulated in the principles of JAI—Jointness, Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance), and Innovation. This seminar is an essential confluence of senior military leaders, industry experts, academic figures, and innovators, all united in their pursuit of aligning efforts and ideas towards multi-domain preparedness and a security framework that aligns with the aim of a Viksit Bharat.

In his opening address, Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, emphasized the evolving nature of warfare. He asserted that the Armed Forces must develop truly integrated, innovation-driven, and self-reliant capabilities to maintain both operational superiority and strategic relevancy. He articulated that the JAI framework is not merely conceptual but represents a concrete pathway to success, encapsulated in the phrase “JAI se Vijai.” According to him, the foundational pillars of Jointness, Aatmanirbharta, and Innovation must shape the training, equipping, and employment approaches of the Armed Forces to address current challenges and proactively prepare for future ones.

Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan delivered a keynote address, reinforcing the importance of the three pillars of JAI as essential for attaining victory. He pointed to the necessity of rapid technology absorption and institutional transformation as critical components for enhancing the readiness of future forces. Gen Chauhan also underscored the importance of systemic change aimed at integrating emerging technologies and fostering coordinated capability development across the various military branches.

The first day of the seminar included a session titled “Atmashakti: Joint Synergy for Combat Strength & Self-Reliance.” In this session, senior leaders and distinguished experts engaged in discussions focused on joint capability building and the significance of innovation in strengthening combat operations.

Looking ahead to Day Two, the seminar will shift its focus to Aatmanirbharta through Indigenous Defence Ecosystems and Military–Civil Fusion. This segment aims to expedite defense innovation and integration, ultimately promoting a holistic approach to national capability development. The discussions and initiatives that emerge from this seminar are poised to play a significant role in shaping the future of India’s defense landscape.
