Two army soldiers were killed in a gunbattle with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district. The White Knight Corps confirmed the news on X, along with pictures of the soldiers. Two other Army soldiers were also injured in the encounter and are undergoing treatment.
Security has been heightened in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar following the encounter between security forces and terrorists in the upper reaches of Naidgham village.
Thakur Rangeel Singh, a local resident of the area, speaking to ANI, said, “Around 3-3:30 we got to know that an encounter broke. We got to know that four of the Indian army soldiers had been injured. The situation is quite tense here, and the area has been cordoned off by the Indian Army.”
Three Terrorist Killed In Encounter
Three terrorists were killed on Saturday morning in an overnight encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said. They said a cordon-and-search operation was launched in Chak Tapper Kreeri in the north Kashmir district’s Pattan area late Friday night.
BSF Jawan Injured After Pakistan Troops Resort To Unprovoked Firing
A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel was injured in the Akhnoor area of Jammu on Wednesday when Pakistani troops engaged in unprovoked firing on Indian posts, violating a ceasefire agreement along the border. The BSF personnel retaliated, but officials said that casualties on the Pakistani side were not immediately known.
“On 11 Sept 2024 at about 02:35 AM, incident of unprovoked firing in Akhnoor area from across the border happened and which was befittingly responded by the BSF. One BSF personnel sustained injuries in Pak firing. Troops are on high alert,” BSF said in a statement.
In last 32 months, 50 + army soldiers have been killed in terrorist attacks in Jammu. After almost every attack, terrorists manage to escape without suffering a casualty of their own.
500 Para Commandos Deployed In J&K
In view of the infiltration of highly trained Pakistani terrorists in the Jammu region, the Indian Army is readjusting its deployments in the area as per intelligence inputs and security requirements. The Indian Army has deployed around 500 Para Special Forces commandos in the area to hunt down the 50-55 terrorists from Pakistan who have entered the region to revive terrorism there, defence sources told news agency ANI.
The Army has already brought in troops to the area including one brigade strength of around 3,500-4000 personnel to counter Pakistan’s proxy aggression here, they said.
