Kohima, Nagaland: In a significant move to assess the security landscape in the region, Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Spear Corps, recently visited the Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) located in Kohima. During this visit, he reviewed the existing security situation as well as the operational preparedness of the troops stationed in Nagaland.

At the headquarters, Lt Gen Pendharkar received comprehensive briefings regarding the current internal security environment, ongoing operations, and the various initiatives the Assam Rifles have undertaken to foster peace and stability in the region. He expressed his appreciation for the proactive measures implemented by the forces in collaboration with the local civil administration and other security agencies, which have proven instrumental in maintaining order.

Following his discussions in Kohima, the GOC traveled to the Sector Headquarters of Assam Rifles in Lekhapani, Assam. There, he engaged directly with officers, Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs), and troops, taking the opportunity to commend their high levels of professionalism and operational excellence. He acknowledged their unwavering commitment to performing challenging duties, often in difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions.
