Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, recently visited the Headquarters of Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa Area to assess ongoing infrastructure initiatives aimed at enhancing troop living conditions and welfare. His visit underscored the Indian Army’s commitment to improving the quality of life for its personnel.
During his tour, Lt Gen Seth inspected the newly renovated Albert Ekka Barrack, a transit accommodation facility specifically designed for Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Other Ranks (ORs). He emphasized the significance of timely completion and adherence to high-quality standards in infrastructure projects, particularly during his review of the Married Accommodation Project (MAP) at the Colaba Military Station.
In addition, he visited the AMWP Special Repair accommodation project, where he acknowledged the continuous efforts made to upgrade living infrastructure. Enhancing residential facilities for Army personnel is crucial, as it directly impacts their overall welfare and ability to serve effectively.
During the visit, four service personnel from the Indian Army and the Indian Navy were awarded on-the-spot commendations for their exemplary service and unwavering dedication to duty. Lt Gen Seth recognized the professionalism and commitment of all ranks, emphasizing the importance of cohesive command structures and robust support systems in maintaining operational readiness.
