Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Surya Command, recently visited the Golden Key Division in Clement Town and the Birpur Cantonment in Dehradun. This visit was aimed at reviewing the operational preparedness of the formations and the initiatives being implemented to incorporate advanced technology into their operations.
During his tour, Lt Gen Sengupta inspected the Regimental Repair and Maintenance (RegRem) facility. He commended the Golden Key Eagles for their significant contributions in upgrading and repairing drones and Next Generation Equipment (NGEs), which play a crucial role in enhancing operational sustainability and fostering self-reliance within the forces.
At the Birpur Cantonment, the Army Commander evaluated state-of-the-art training facilities that integrate advanced weapon systems and drone simulators. His visit included a stop at the Drone Training Area, where he received a comprehensive briefing on the training methodologies in place, operational capabilities, and ongoing initiatives designed to bolster drone-based operations.
Lt Gen Sengupta praised the formation for its forward-thinking approach in establishing modern training infrastructure. He highlighted the high standards of training being delivered to troops and underlined the imperative of incorporating realism into training scenarios. He also stressed the significance of deeper technological integration and continuous innovation as essential factors for enhancing operational effectiveness, particularly in preparing the force for future battlefields.
